The Caloritech™ RCH1 Fan-Forced Calvane™ Cab Heater provides efficient and economical comfort heating for transit car use in operator cabs, lavatories and passenger areas. The unit is comprised of six horizontally staggered 333W Calvane™ heaters with a 250 c.f.m. centrifgual fan strategically placed in a brushed aluminum frame.

RCH2 - Fan-Forced Electric Open Coil Cab Heater

The Caloritech™ RCH2 Fan-Forced Electric Open Coil Cab Heater provides efficient and economical comfort heating for transit car use in operator cabs, lavatories and passenger areas. The unit features a speed-controlled fan, a 500W open coil element and a 1000W open coil element.

RCH3 - Fan-Forced Electric Tubular Element Cab Heater

The Caloritech™ Fan-Forced Electric Tubular Element Cab Heater consists of a single entry axial flow fan that forces air over tubular elements. An automatic reset thermal cutout acts as the primary protector. In this design, the fan and the elements operate on 480V while the controls function on a separate 120V feed.

PXFT - Natural Convection Heater

The Caloritech™ PXFT Natural Convection Heater is engineered to provide freeze protection inside an enclosure or wall containing water pipes or electrical instrumentation. It is approved for mounting horizontally or vertically on the floor or lower wall of the enclosure. Standard units come equipped with a built-in thermostat. Units without the thermostat are also available on special order.

  • available in a range of standard wattages, from 50W to 600W; higher wattages may be available upon request (check factory for availability)
  • wire guards are standard on units with wattages of 300W or higher; wire guards are optional on units with wattages 200W or lower
  • available standard voltages of 120V and 240V
  • unit lengths range from 8 3/8" to 28 1/2" (213 to 724 mm)
  • surface temperatures range from 100°C (212°F) to 210°C (410°F), depending on wattage

PH - Fan-Forced Enclosure Heater

Caloritech™ PH Fan-Forced Enclosure Heaters are designed to control the environment within enclosures by maintaining a stable temperature. The effects of low temperatures, such as corrosion, freezing or condensation, will adversely affect the components inside control panels. The Enclosure Heater provides an optimal performance environment for the critical components contained within the control panel.

DFF - Tubular Overhead HVAC Heater (Finned Tubular Calrod® type* Elements)

The Caloritech™ DFF Tubular Overhead HVAC Heater is designed for operation with a primary HVAC system. Finned tubular (Calrod® type*) elements are positioned in a metal fabricated frame generally designed for removal during servicing without disturbing the heater frame. Elements are rigidly braced to minimize vibrations.

Non-finned tubular (Calrod® type*) elements are positioned in a metal fabricated frame generally designed for removal during servicing without disturbing the heater frame. Elements are rigidly braced to minimize vibrations.

DOF - Open Coil Overhead HVAC Heater

The Caloritech™ DOF Open Coil Overhead HVAC Heater is designed for operation with a primary HVAC system. The unit is made from helical wound high grade nickel chromium resistant wires supported by interlocking ceramic insulators with four times the creepage distance between terminal and ground.

  • low element mass yields relatively small amounts of residual heat on fan shut down, reducing heat effect on surrounding material

CX Screwplug Immersion Heater

The Caloritech™ CX Screwplug Immersion Heater is used primarily to heat water in tanks through natural convection currents. Typical heaters have standard 1"-21/2" NPT tapered plugs. Other sizes or plugs are available on special order. All thermostat equipped screwplug heaters with moisture or explosion-proof housings feature a convenient terminal block mounted to a slide out trolley.

Threshold Heater (CALBAR™)

The Caloritech™ CALBAR™ Threshold Heater uses the unique CALBAR™ heating element. The flat cross section of the CALBAR™ ensures maximum heat transfer to the threshold. Threshold heaters are hermetically sealed. Customized designs and mounting hardware allow adaptation to existing thresholds. Alternatively, CALBAR™ heaters can be factory-installed in threshold extrusions.

FV - Transit Car Floor Calvane™ Heater

The Caloritech™ FV Calvane™ Heater is a compact, lightweight and economical electrical heating source that features durable Calrod® type* construction for easy, efficient installation and long life. Lengths up to 120" can be factory mounted to stainless steel sub panels, ready for easy and immediate installation into the transit car floor. These lengths reduce the number of field interconnections and allow series-connected elements to be powered at car ends or mid-car, minimizing assembly and wiring costs during car building.

RCH4 - Transit Car Fan-Forced Floor Heater

The Caloritech™ RCH4 Fan-Forced Floor Heater is designed for comfort air heating applications in passenger transit cars. The heater is typically mounted underneath passenger seats, and heats by forcing air over open coil elements and discharging the heated air through perforated grilles located along the inner walls of the car.

SD - Transit Car Floor Strip Heater

The Caloritech™ SD Transit Car Floor Strip Heater is straight with terminal studs at each end, which is typical of strip heaters designed for transit applications. A high temperature nickle chromium resistance wire is uniformly spaced over the width of the heater embedded in a special refractory material that possesses excellent heat transfer characteristics for demanding railcar environments.
