Flowrox™ Heavy Duty Valves

Flowrox™ is a proven valve supplier for heavy duty industrial valves that are applicable to demanding process conditions in various industries. All valve types have been used in various applications around the world e.g. as mining valves.

Flowrox™ pinch valves, which are ideal solutions where shut-off and control applications involve abrasive or corrosive slurries, powders or coarse substances. The number of design variations is virtually unlimited as the modular structure of a Flowrox™ valve enables the selection of any actuator, valve body construction and sleeve material to fit specific process conditions.

Description

Flowrox™ knife gate valves are built with a cast body and they feature a heavy-duty stainless steel gate. They all suit to applications that involve abrasive or corrosive slurries, powders or coarse substances.

Flowrox™ Rotary Disc Valves (LRD) have a unique rotating disc designed specifically for heavy abrasive and corrosive slurries.

Pinch Valves for shut-off and control applications

Flowrox™ pinch valves are ideal solutions where shut-off and control applications involve abrasive or corrosive slurries, powders or coarse substances. The number of design variations is virtually unlimited as the modular structure of a Flowrox™ valve enables the selection of any actuator, valve body construction and sleeve material to fit specific process conditions.

The operating principle of a Flowrox™ valve is simple. In the open position, the valve is at full bore with no flow restrictions thus making the valve an integral part of the pipeline. During closing, two pinch bars squeeze the sleeve shut on the centerline. The Flowrox™ valves provide a 100% tight shut-off.

Modular Design of the Pinch Valve

Flowrox™ modular pinch valve design has three main components: the sleeve, the body and the actuator (manual, pneumatic, hydraulic and electric). The sleeve is the only part that is in contact with the process medium. The construction and materials of all three main components can be tailored to suit most process conditions. Self-cleaning Flowrox™ valves provide 100% tight shut-off even if solids have built up on the sleeve wall. When compressed, any crystallized particles flake off the sleeve surface and are washed downstream.

  • Size range: standard range from 25 mm to 1.000 mm
  • Temperatures: -50°C to +160°C
  • Operating pressures: vacuum to 100 bar

Flowrox™ provides pinch valves with enclosed, open, sealed and general line valve bodies.  We provide tailor-maid flow control solutions precisely in accordance with the customer specification.

Flowrox™ Control Valves

Flowrox™ control valves are designed for demanding control applications in which conventional valves encounter problems with wear and turbulence. Controllability can be further improved with conical sleeves or smart positioners. Elastic sleeves have been applied for improved wear resistance.

Each valve can be sized and optimized for the optimal control range, to limit wear and velocity and also to prevent cavitation from occurring in the control valve.

Sizing and selecting the control valve

Control valve sizing and selection is a result from process conditions. Namely, flow rate range, slurry specific gravity (s.g.) and pressure difference over the valve define how the control valve is sized and selected. Flowrox™ control valve sizing is based on international IEC60534 standard (harmonized with ANSI/ISA S75 standards).

The optimal control range of the Flowrox™ valve is between 10-50 % of opening. Flowrox™ offers accurate control and the longest service life time in the most demanding slurries.

Flowrox™ Oy was the first pinch valve manufacturer in the world to get awarded the ISO9001:2000 Quality Certificate in 1997. Flowrox™ valves also meet the ANSI/ISA Pinch valve standard ANSI/ISA 75.10.02.

Slurry Knife Gate Valves

Flowrox™ Heavy Duty Knife Gate Valves are built with a cast body and they feature a heavy-duty stainless steel blade. Removable seats on either side of the gate provide a bi-directional bubble tight seal, with no metal parts in contact with the slurry flow.

Flowrox™ slurry knife gate family includes wafer (LKW), flanged (LKF) and high pressure (LKH) valves. Standard pressures are up to 10 bar for LKW/LKF and 20 bar for LKH.

Knife Gate Valves' special features include: • Double seat design for heavy duty slurry service • Easily replaceable ring sleeves • Full bore • No metal parts in contact with the flowing slurry • Bubble tight shutoff

Knife gate valves are suited for several applications e.g. in Mining and Metal Industries, Mineral Processing or Water and Waste Water Treatment. Flowrox™ can also supply non-standard diameters and special pressures on request.

Rotary Disc Valves

Flowrox™ Rotary Disc Valves (LRD) have a unique rotating disc designed specifically for heavy abrasive and corrosive slurries. The patented design allows the valve to cycle in heavy slurries without sticking or leaking and with minimum wear. Standard pressures are up to 100 bar.
