RXDF - Explosion-Proof Duct Heater

The Ruffneck™ RXDF Explosion-Proof Duct Heater is designed for heating air or gases in hazardous environments where potentially explosive substances are present, such as oil refineries, coal mines, petrochemical plants and sewage treatment plants. They use heavy walled carbon steel finned tubular (Calrod® Type)* elements with nickel plated finish to provide safe, efficient, low temperature heat transfer.

RDFF - Commercial Flanged Duct Heater

The Ruffneck™ RDFF Commercial Flanged Duct Heater with finned tubular (Calrod® type*) elements is designed for use in comfort heating applications, such as make-up air heating, air pre-heating, air handling equipment, fan coils, terminal reheating, multi-zone reheating, heat pump auxiliary systems and return air heating. The finned tubular elements are constructed using a steel tube with a corrugated steel fin wrapped around it and brazed together, which increases the heat transfer surface of the element resulting in a lower operating temperature than the non-finned tubular element designs.

RDFT - Commercial Flanged Duct Heater

The Ruffneck™ RDFT Commercial Flanged Duct Heater with non-finned tubular (Calrod® type*) elements is designed for use in comfort heating applications, such as make-up air heating, air pre-heating, air handling equipment, fan coils, terminal reheating, multi-zone reheating, heat pump auxiliary systems and return air heating. The non-finned incoloy® element design should be chosen where high humidity or slightly corrosive contaminants may be present in the air stream, as this type of element features higher corrosion-resistance than the finned element design. Unlike open coil designs, duct heaters fitted with tubular elements are not subject to hazards of electrical shock, which allows installation closer to a register or grille.

AH - Advanced Horizontal Unit Heater

Ruffneck™ AH Series Advanced Horizontal Unit Heaters are designed for rugged industrial applications and can be used with a variety of heat transfer fluids such as steam, circulating hot water, and glycol heating systems or in liquid cooling applications, including flash stream condensers, lube oil coolers, pump seal coolers and more. Explosion-proof models suitable for hazardous locations are also available on custom order.

Ruffneck™ AV Series Advanced Vertical Throw Unit Heaters are designed for rugged industrial applications meeting the most demanding service and long life requirements. While perfect for steam, circulating hot water or glycol heating systems, these heaters are also suitable for a wide range of other heating fluids. In addition, they can be used for both space heating and liquid cooling applications. Explosion-proof models suitable for hazardous locations available on custom order.

The Ruffneck™ CRE1 Triton™ Unit Heater is a corrosion-resistant washdown heater designed for washdown applications in non-hazardous locations that use water pressure of less than 482 kPa.

FE2 - Explosion-Proof Electric Air Unit Heater

The Ruffneck™ FE2 heaters are CE Marked & ATEX Approved to Directive 94/9/EC for use in hazardous locations. They are designed for dry indoor industrial applications such as oil refineries, petrochemical plants, pulp and paper mills, hazardous waste storage facilities, wastewater treatment plants, etc., where specific explosive gases or dusts maybe present. All FE2 heaters feature the VacuCore® liquid-to-air heat exchanger, which provides greater efficiency, faster warm-up and even heat distribution across the face of the exchanger. The entire core can be replaced easily and safely with a new core if required.

FR - Frost Resistant Heat Exchanger Unit Heater

Ruffneck™ FR Heat Exchanger Unit Heaters are extra heavy duty (including heavy gauge steel construction) to meet the most demanding service and long life requirements for rugged industrial applications. The FR Series heaters are specifically designed for steam applications that may be subject to freezing conditions, and are of particular value for outdoor applications. They gain their resistance to frost damage through the use of rectangular top and bottom headers. Explosion-proof models suitable for hazardous locations are available on custom order.
